Our services are free and confidential for all SKC students. What we offer on campus Clinical Counseling Expand Clinical therapists are available through our community partner Cedar Creek Integrated Health. Cedar Creek uses a short-term counseling model that aims to address student’s concerns in eight sessions. If students need additional services beyond this they may be able to receive them depending on the needs and availability of resources. Depending on the referral needs additional low-cost services are available through a number of our community partners. Confidentiality: A number of confidentiality guidelines and statutes are recognized on campus specifically through our program. These programs are required by law and professional ethics to protect the confidentiality of all communication between advocate and client, counselor and client, and health provider and client with the exception of instances of harm to self or harm to others. Sessions can include resource sharing, referrals to on-campus services, and Q&A around client’s specific questions on topics such as healthy relationships, coping skills, healthy meal plans, etc. Sessions are typically 30-60 minutes long and are offered over Zoom or as a Wellness Walk around campus. For information call 406-275-4913. Relaxation Station Expand The relaxation station is a free service to students, staff, and faculty to book a 30-minute getaway from the everyday stress. When booking the session you can request the room to be set up for meditation, relaxing stretching, yoga session, relaxing music, happy light (sun lamp), aromatherapy, Coloring Sheets (color pencils, markers, and crayons included), and or a digital detox room. Advocacy referrals are accessible through our community partner, SAFE Harbor. Students may elect to meet on-site with an advocate through SAFE Harbor or another location of their selection. Montana law allows for specific confidentiality protection through advocate privilege available through SAFE Harbor advocates. SKC Campus Advocate 406-382-0918 24-Hour Crisis Line 406-676-0800 Prevention Education Expand Certified Peer Education Certified Peer Education is a great step to learn and improve your skills to become an effective friend, educator, activist, role model, and team leader. This training is designed to enhance the skills needed to be an effective campus peer educator. Bystander Intervention Bringing in the Bystander is an evidence-based campus bystander intervention program. This curriculum uses a community responsibility approach. It teaches the campus community how to safely intervene in instances where sexual violence, relationship violence, or stalking may be occurring or where there may be risk that it will occur. Alcohol Edu and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (Vector)- Required for all first-year incoming students.
